Hi everyone! My name is Charles Montalbano and I am a personal trainer at Evolve Fitness & Training. I currently work full-time in IT for Montalbano Computer Services Inc. with previous experience as a high school football coach for 6 years and indoor and outdoor track coach for 3 years. I currently have my NASM personal training certification and NASM online training certification.

I’ve lived my whole life in the gym space. From a young age, my pops had me lifting in the basement until I was 13 when I got my first gym membership. We started by building up a very strong fundamental base of all the compound movements, which I truthfully believe helped me to get where I am now. I started my football career in 7th grade and continued to pursue football into my adulthood. After high school, I attended Bridgeton Academy to play football and further my Division 1 athletics dream along with my academic studies. I was recruited by Central Connecticut State University where a slew of injuries would impede my football career, forcing me to step away after only a few years. On the road to recovery from internal organ swelling, sepsis, rhabdomyolysis, and a dislocated hip; I looked in the mirror to see a 450+lbs man looking back. I knew I needed to make a change, and returned to the gym to start consistently training. In 6 months, I worked hard to drop my weight from 457lbs to 313lbs to ensure I could have my hip operated on. After surgery I fell back off and went back up to 387lbs. This was the start of my current sport endeavor: powerlifting. I worked with a nutritionist who helped me get down to 307lbs in 6 months and taught me how to properly diet, prep meals, and understand progress within dieting. From there I continued to lose weight and feel healthy and strong in my current body.

Over the last 5 years I have competed in numerous powerlifting competitions in all different federations, as well as 1 strongman competition. I currently compete as a Multi-Ply powerlifter and my best powerlifting numbers to date in competition are a 2260lb total, 905lb squat, 605lb bench, and 750lb deadlift. With that being said, the mindset of never hitting your full potential is huge to me. Everyone puts a ceiling on others' potential, but why? As an athlete, gym go-er, or everyday-person you should never see the limit to your success or capabilities: you can do whatever your mind believes you can. My focus is to help you see that, be a support factor to not only push you to that limit but see how much farther you can go beyond it.

I am extremely thankful and grateful for this opportunity. Thank you John and Stefanie for opening up this amazing gym and letting me be a part of the family.
